The MBLN presents four awards: Employer of the Year Small, Medium Business, Employer of the Year Large Business and President’s Award.
The Employer of Year Small/Medium Business and Employer of Year Large Business will be given to the company that has proven themselves to excel in the area of the employment and the retention of persons with disabilities.
The recipient of the President’s Award will be an organization or individual who has demonstrated innovation in the development of programs that increase the employability and retention of persons with disabilities.
Special consideration will be given to companies or organizations that share their innovative programs with others, thereby increasing the opportunities for persons with disabilities.
General Criteria
All award recipients will be evaluated on the following factors:
1. Achievement and impact in award category.
2. Evidence of commitment to eliminating employment societal and personal barriers for persons with disabilities.
3. Demonstration of innovation, quality and successes in provision of services.
4. All nominees for the Employer of the Year Award must be a business/industry located in Manitoba.
5. The nominees must have exhibited outstanding achievements in improving employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
6. Have a written policy/action plan to create hiring equality and retention programs for persons with disabilities
7. A growth in the percentage of persons with disabilities within the business
8. Identified success story/stories of your plan of action
9. Evidence of collaboration with the disability community
