


In addressing the number one challenge that the business community has identified as having trouble identifying qualified persons with disabilities to hire when looking to fill vacant positions, the MBLN developed an Employment Fair that will provide companies looking to become more proactive in hiring persons with disabilities the opportunity to meet qualified job seekers with disabilities. By creating a venue for companies to look for qualified employs or just to inform persons looking for employment within their company of the minimum skills sets required for entry level positions.
In year two the Employment Fair had 19 companies participate with approximately 500 persons with disabilities in attendance throughout the day looking for employment. Employment Fair 2003 has resulted in at least 15 permanent positions.
We have enjoyed steady growth every year and this year we anticipate approximately 30 companies and 500 persons with disabilities looking for employment to attend.
